I didn’t get a chance to attend a workshop that week, so I did some work from online/video references. This week was all about the arms.

Week 09: The original model didn’t show up and we had a late substitute, which meant not a lot of drawings got done. But a lot of Demos did happen, which is always good.

This week (07) was about the torso, shoulders and back. That’s why most of the drawings are incomplete. by this week, I started to get the base structure or the mannequin about 80% in place. Whenever my drawing seemed wrong, it all was due to issues with the ‘lay-in’ as it was referred to by our instructor - Kevin Chen who is quite amazing!

These are drawings from a workshop I attended today at Graphaids, Santa Monica. The poses ranged from 2 to 20 minutes. I tried shading out one side of the drawing, which I don’t think I’ve done a lot of, but it seems to be working quite well.

This is classroom work from week 06. This particular model was challenging due to his different gestures. I am hoping I get to draw more of him in future workshops.
